Apex GP (dev.phil.apexgp) is a racing game made by Philip Hauser. It does not show ads, use analytics, or sell data.
What stays on your device
The game stores settings and career progress on your device. Graphics settings are never uploaded.
Optional account
You can sign in from the title screen with your email address. The game asks the developer's server to email you a 6-digit sign-in code, which stops working after 10 minutes. There is no password. The code email is sent through an email delivery service on the developer's behalf.
If you sign in, the server keeps:
- your email address, which is your account name
- your career progress (season, results, standings)
- for each signed-in device, the device's model name and when it last synced
- your email address and IP address in counters that limit repeated sign-in requests
Sign-in codes are stored only as a one-way hash.
This is used only so the same career can continue on your other devices. It is not sold and it is not shared with advertisers or other third parties.
Sign out ends the sign-in for that device, on the device and on the server. Delete account removes your account, synced career and every sign-in from the server. The device keeps its local career. It does not yet remove the sign-in request counters (your email address and IP address, kept only to limit repeated requests); email the address below and they will be removed.
The connection is plain HTTP. It is not encrypted in transit, so your email address, sign-in code and career progress can be read by anyone who can see your network traffic. Do not sign in if you do not want that. If the server cannot be reached, the career stays on the device and syncs the next time it can.
Optional debug report
If you tap Send debug report (Settings → Race & Audio), the game can send the developer a report so a graphics or performance bug can be diagnosed. Nothing is sent unless you tap that button.
The report can include:
- device model, OS version, CPU and GPU names, and screen size
- graphics settings and recent frame times
- the game log
- a screenshot of the current frame
- any note you type
The report is sent to the developer's own server. It is not sold and it is not shared with advertisers, analytics companies, or other third parties. If the upload cannot complete, the report is saved on the device and you can share the file yourself.
The upload is plain HTTP. It is not encrypted in transit. Do not tap the button if you do not want that information sent.
What the game does not do
The game does not request location, contacts, photos (except the screenshot taken for a debug report you choose to send), or an advertising ID. There is no advertising and no analytics SDK.
Circuit data is derived from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL). That is attribution of map data, not a transfer of your personal data.
